We came here for dinner with a big group of friends. The decorations of the restaurant is sophisticated and the staff are very friendly. It’s very children-friendly. The food we had was very tasty with a good portion so that I was able to have a three course meal. The roasted pork belly was well seasoned and very tender. I really enjoyed it! The fish and chips were crunchy and not greasy at all.

Hotel has had a very recent refit and looks amazing, very clean and modern. I was given a free room upgrade (hope that's not made me biased ). Staff were very friendly and helpful. The lounge area was really smart and comfy. If it'd been warmer I'd have enjoyed a beer in the wooden patio. Lots of nautical themed photos all around. Nice open fire place (though wasn't lit on this occasion). The room was very smart, spacious, comfortable, lots of lights and convenient plug sockets. The bathroom was plenty spacious, clean and new. The shower was great (no bath). Evening food was very good and was served quickly. The breakfast menu included a full Scottish breakfast with haggis, nice touch as first time breakfast I'd had that had haggis on my 7 night tour of Scotland.

I stayed here for two nights whilst travelling with work for a business meeting in Dumfries. I stayed in a standard double room, which was spotlessly clean, modern and a good size to be able to work and relax in. I had a great night's sleep as the bed was very comfortable and the area the hotel is located in is very quiet. I ate in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner and the food was lovely and hot on both occasions. The staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. I would happily stay here again for business or bring my family on a leisure trip.

Another nice stay here. The room was very comfortable (although there were a couple of maintenance issues needing attention). The restaurant has a very high standard, with a good range of dishes and a nice wine selection. The staff are generally very helpful and cheerful. Overall, very good value and happy to return soon.
